In the distant future, the Sun loses its brightness and plunges Earth into permanent dusk. Plants wither and hope for survival grows more dim with each passing day. A wealthy entrepreneur unveils a secretly-built solar satellite. Orbiting the Earth from an exact distance renders it the same size as the Sun. Plants thrive, and chance of survival increases. The satellite is operated by the Solar Priesthood, who have sacrificed a life on Earth to live as caretakers. Those on the Earth must pay a tithe to the solar priesthood. Worshipers claim that the wealthy entrepreneur was born from an immortal alien race who on behalf of lower lifeforms intercede in times of trouble. Very little is known about the satellite or its caretaking priesthood. Our story begins with a curious character and his attempt to stow away on a cargo ship headed to the satellite. What will he find? What secrets will be uncovered? Will a sinister plot be revealed?
